This week we talked with Susan Haywood of the Portland Raging Grannies about life with Trump. We asked Susan if she felt that Trump was merely a clown, a serious calamity, a catalyst for change… or maybe all three? Susan shared with us that the Raging Grannies membership had significantly increased after the election of Trump. There has also been an increase in activism with other organizations across the states. Americans are finally waking up to the racism and corruption within their borders and trying to do something about it. If you’d like to see a photo of Susan’s Climate March costume (mentioned in the show), you can go to our previous interview in archives.
We also talked about the dissention within the Republican party and the civil service and the extraordinary measures lawmakers are taking to prevent Trump from being able to pardon his associates. Finally, we asked Susan if she feels th#45 (as Susan calls him) has been a catalyst – albeit unintentionally – for positive change in her life and that of her friends… as always, the point we’re trying to make is that life is what we make it, not what happens to us.
